🦍 Single Vvti Vs Dual Vvti
Beams 3sge (altezza) = Dual VVTi. K20 ( RSX type s, TSX, and typeR) = single VVTi and Vtec. BUT i still think even the Beams 3sge from the sw20's would be sooo badass supercharged, Im sure it can be done and its just a matter of time before someone drops one in there AW11, so please somebody get cracking on it.
There are two versions of the 3sge beams engine. 1)the first version is the red top with a single vvt producing 200ps. 2) the second version is the the blacktop with dual vvt that produces 210 ps. When you say black top, you are miscommunicating information; you inferring version two with dual vvt. Ok, to answer your question, It is not

In summary, while VVT-i technology uses a single camshaft to adjust the valve timing, Dual VVT-i technology uses two camshafts to provide more precise control of the valve timing, resulting in improved performance and fuel economy. How Does VVT-i Work? Understanding Variable Valve Timing Technology
If the oil filter is a traditional spin on filter mounted in front of the driver side valve cover (next to the oil fill cap), it's the original single VVT-i 4.0 V6. The dual VVT-i 4.0 V6 has uses a cartridge oil filter and it's mounted down low towards the bottom of the engine--it's not accessible from up above through the hood.
Location. PA. Jul 27, 2010. #3. VCT = Variable Cam Timing. A system that makes the valves open and close earlier or later in the piston cycle by changing the "phase" of the camshaft. VVT = Variable Valve Timing. A general term for any system that can make the valves open and close earlier or later in the piston cycle, whether through cam
The 2007 introduction of Toyota's Valvematic technology was intended to improve upon the company's previous VVT-i variable valve timing system. The update included a brand-new system for regulating the volume of the intake valve lift. The ultimate objective of Toyota was to improve combustion efficiency and reduce fuel usage.
Are there any real advantages to using dual vvti vs single vvti? I would think that dual vvti would be capable of more cam overlap at higher rpms. Any chance this would be worthwhile, or would it be better to simply stick with the single vvti head.
Rebuilding a single vvt-i to a dual vvt-i would not be worth the effort. Just buy a already built dual vvt-i but even then the systems in the vehicle probably wouldn't work so you would have to go through every sensor and module and update it if there was a difference. At that point, just trade in the 2007 for an 2010+ and you would save money.
